Finding Balance: My Journey to Authentic Wellbeing

For most of my life, I’ve been a naturally optimistic and positive person. I often found it hard to understand why not everyone could feel that same sense of joy, hope, or possibility.

Looking back, I can see that some of this came from a place of toxic positivity and believing that being positive meant avoiding discomfort or simply choosing a better mindset.

Then life humbled me.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, I took The Science of Well-Being course, and it opened something in me. I began to understand that wellbeing is not about forcing happiness. It’s about habits, meaning, relationships, resilience, self-awareness, and learning how to navigate the full human experience.

I wanted to learn more, not only for myself, but to understand how I could help others in a healthier, deeper, and more sustainable way.

That journey led me to complete my Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology at the University of East London in 2024.

While studying, I was also working full-time. It was a lot.

After graduating, I should have felt accomplished, but instead, I felt disconnected. I knew I wasn’t using what I had learned in the way I was meant to. My passion and sense of purpose were calling me somewhere else.

Then one year later, I came very close to burnout.

Ironically, it was the very tools I had studied (positive psychology practices, mindset shifts, self-awareness, and behaviour change) that helped me through it.

That experience changed everything.

It reminded me that wellbeing is not theoretical. It matters in real life, especially when life feels heavy.

So I made a big decision: I left my corporate job and chose to build a life that felt more aligned.

Today, I do two things I genuinely love.

I founded Wellthentic, where I support individuals and organisations through coaching, workshops, and wellbeing work rooted in positive psychology.

And I still work in the textile industry, now part-time.

That balance feels right. It allows me to live in a way that feels sustainable, meaningful, and true to who I am.

Everything feels more aligned.

I know what it feels like to succeed on the outside while struggling on the inside.

I know the pressure of corporate life.
I know how close burnout can feel.
And I know how powerful the right tools can be when they are applied in a real, human way.

With my background in the corporate world, my personal experience, and the scientific foundation of positive psychology, I bring a mix of empathy, evidence, and practicality to the people I work with.

Whether you’re an individual looking for more clarity and wellbeing, or an organisation wanting to help your people thrive, I’d love to support you.

With gratitude,

Rosanna
